We got excellent value for our money with top-class accommodation and fabulous hosts. The views over Hanmer were to die for and the location couldn't be faulted. The rooms were beautifully decorated with nods to local history and fresh flowers, and everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. Our host Jill was personable and knowledgeable, and the balcony overlooking the garden was incredibly relaxing. The birdlife around the property was a rare delight, and the breakfast was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the bed, balcony, and birds.

extremely well presented room. very clean. outstanding views. friendly management. easy walk to shops/restaurants.
this is expensive accommodation for a fairly small double room, a small bathroom and communal balcony. very small cupboard space for clothing. quite noisy as other guests easily heard through walls. very limited cooking facilities.

During our recent trip to the South Island, we had the pleasure of staying at a truly magnificent boutique lodge. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the warm and friendly hosts, Dave and Jill. the view of the mountains from our room was absolutely breathtaking, and we couldn't help but be in awe. the accommodation itself was stunning, with tasteful decor and all the amenities we could ask for. We particularly enjoyed the separate breakfast and lounge area, as well as the delicious continental breakfast that was included. the location was also perfect, just a short 10-minute walk into town. we highly recommend this lodge and can confidently say that it exceeded our expectations. Cons: It was all superb! 👌.

The room was immaculate and had gorgeous views of the mountains. The owners, Jill and Dave, were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing us with great recommendations for dinner and activities in town. The location was perfect - quiet and within walking distance to everything. We even discovered a secret path that led us into the hills, adding a touch of adventure to our stay. We will definitely be returning!
Breakfast offerings could be improved with a wider variety of options.

Oh, just a small inconvenience. The parking was a bit tight for my fancy ute.

We had a fantastic stay at this boutique lodge. The owners were incredibly attentive and made sure we were comfortable throughout our visit. The location offered stunning views from our balcony, and we enjoyed taking advantage of the woollen throws provided. The room itself was well-appointed, with a modern bathroom and a spacious shower. We also appreciated the amenities such as Sky TV, DVD player, and an audio speaker. The guest lounge and library added to the cozy atmosphere, and the private garden and nearby walking track were a bonus. Highly recommended!
